Clock cleaning

Last Saturday I was playing around with my stroke and trying to use a little more finesse. I was having problems with my shot making while I was doing so. For some reason the change did not feel comfortable, and I decided to go back to square one.
When I finished the practice session I did not feel totally satisfied with the progress. It was a mind thing, a little mental widget I could not put in place. It bothered me on and off like one of those music tunes one hears and for some reason starts humming it without even thinking. I could call it a floating mental message that's trying to tell me something I do not want to hear.

I played last night against a 4 rating player the same as I am. He cleaned my clock 3straight games. He is a good player, but I feel I am equally, under regular circumstances, as good. The games went down to the last couple of balls but he out played me because of my mistakes. I was not completely comfortable with my stroke and timeing.

I should have listened to the widget.
