This Monday, Dec 1, 2008 we have a bye week. And I think it is a good thing. The team has been off a little, and I hope it will give us a chance to get recharged. I believe we will meet for a practice session, but I'm still waiting for a call from Tom, (the Captain) to call me. For me it does not matter because I usually run a practice session on my own. It is better to have some competition to play against in practice games. If mistakes are made they can be looked at and discussed, maybe change something that could have caused it and reshoot the shot over a few times to instill it in everyone memory. Like trying to get the mostest by osmosis. Whatever works.
I stopped in the library today and spoke to Mr. Singer about the book he ordered for me. He said it was in processing and I should have it tomorrow. I told him I would stop by sometimes in the afternoon. I would love to have it before the practice session tomorrow night. I'm sure there will be some interesting shots and layouts in the book considering the DVD was based on its contents. I learned a lot from the DVD and the book should be a re-enforcer. At least I can make copies that I can take to the table to use as a ready reference.
I'm still working on my grip. I am also focusing on watching the ferrule. I had mentioned this in another post, and it is a good indicator of a problem. My grip has been eradic lately and I believe it is in the elbow or the shoulder. I think I will start wearing the right wrist glove again. It is like a training aid that one sees on professional bowlers to keep the wrist in place. I've used one before and it seems to help the memory muscles. If the wrist, on the back stroke, leans just a little outward or inside, something you don't even realize, it will move the cue tip off the aiming spot. And the shot is dead. hmmm.
