Coaching from the sidelines ????
Last night I played the last match of the night. It seems I'm always the last match. I'll have to ask why. Not that it matters, the rest of the team has to go to work in the morning. But, last night was the final straw. I was ready to take a safety shot and the Captain called time out and sent Neil to tell me what kind of shot I should make. Immediately I tensed up. I do not like that out of the blue. Anyway, Neil explained the shot, and I was not happy with it. It was a very low percentage shot as against the one I wanted to take which was a high percentage shot and one I was comfortable making. Against my better judgement I went with the suggested shot and lost the match. The benchmark for shots are: If it is over 60% failure rate don't take it. Play a safety or give up the cue ball to your opponent and hope he makes a mistake that will give the ball back to you. Billiards and pool can be something of a cat and mouse game.
